Life at Leeds Metropolitan University - it's the place to be for undergraduate students
As one of the most popular universities in the UK, we offer world-class learning, an incredible campus and city environment, and a lively, friendly social scene that makes for the perfect student experience.
93.7% of our†graduates are in employment or further education*.
Excellent Customer Care
Our customer-focused approach has been recognised and we are one of only three universities in the UK to hold the Customer Service Excellence standard, a Government customer service benchmark for public sector organisations.
Free Placement Year
We donít charge UK/EU students any fees for our placement years. A†placement is an excellent opportunity to improve your job prospects. From Leeds, London or Los Angeles, you could work with KPMG, Disney or Microsoft, among others.
Earn while you learn
Our†Job Shop is one of the largest in the country, giving students access to over 175,000 hours of paid work per year.
Gain Work Experience
We include work-related experience in all of our undergraduate courses. As employers are increasingly looking for graduates who have a range of experience over and above their university studies, itís a great way to improve your chances.
Free Language Courses
We offer full-time undergraduate students the opportunity to learn a language for free. Having language skills and a global outlook are increasingly important for all employers, at home and internationally.
Leeds Metropolitan was the only UK university to secure more than 60 student internships at the 2012†Olympic & Paralympic Games and weíre looking forward to securing more at the†Commonwealth Games in 2014. We also take 500 students to work at UK festivals through our partnership with†Festival Republic each year. If you are offered an unconditional place you can apply to take part in the summer festivals before you start!
With more than†4,000 rooms we guarantee accommodation to all first year students who make us their first choice and who apply before the booking deadline (for UK students this is 30 June). Staying in our halls of residence is a great way to meet new people and become part of university life.
Don't take our word for it. Get real, current student perspectives at @LeedsMetAlt or #LeedsMetAlt. Of course the best way to experience our University and one of the UK's most exciting cities, is to come along to one of our Open Days.
