We welcome students from all walks of life
Not everyone comes to university in the conventional way. Our flexible approach to learning means that we accept people onto our courses from many different backgrounds and at different stages in life.
Mature Students
Our University welcomes applications from mature students who demonstrate academic potential. Whether you have been out of education for a long time or have few or no formal qualifications, we want to hear from you. We usually require some evidence of recent academic study, for example completion of an HE access course, however relevant work and life experience will also be considered.
Credit transfer
If you have appropriate qualifications you may be considered for advanced entry onto your chosen degree course.
Care Leavers
We are aware of the challenges facing care leavers when applying to higher education. At Leeds Metropolitan we will give you an enhanced package of advice and guidance, before you apply and throughout your time with us. This includes assistance with:
- Finance
- Accommodation
- Careers advice
- Health and counselling services
We will help you achieve your full potential and get the most out of university life. A designated member of staff will be available, to provide you with ongoing support.
