Brendan Foster announces the launch of Headingley Carnegie Stadium
11/01/06

Leeds Met is accustomed to welcoming world-class athletes to its Headingley Campus so it was fitting that Olympic medallist and Leeds Met Chancellor Brendan Foster announced the launch of Headingley Carnegie Stadium to the press.
Speaking on behalf of Leeds Met Brendan said: “This is one of the most exciting sporting partnerships in the UK and outside the UK. I believe that partnerships are the future of sport and they can help to push sport forward.
Described earlier today as the spiritual home for the theatre of sporting dreams I believe Headingley is also the national home for the theatre of sporting dreams, but I think this partnership can help move on from this and help the stadium to become a dream factory, where sporting dreams can be turned into reality.
Today is a real momentous occasion and it will help to give an outside view of cementing Leeds with sport. Leeds Met will not be junior partners in this initiative but will be contributors to the future of Headingley and the centre of the sporting dream factory.”
