The Leeds Met Christmas Festival 2007 was a week long success, with the North Pole Collection receiving a great number of donations from both staff and students, which will definitely make a difference to many of the homeless within the community.

Leeds Met BUSA teams continue their successes in the BUSA League programme during the 2007/2008 season.

Students, families and friends enjoyed our Freshers' Festival 2007 where a taste of the opportunities available to the Leeds Met community was celebrated with fellow students, staff and partners.

Leeds Carnegie saw the club’s biggest ever opening game crowd with 10,674 adults and children enjoying the festival atmosphere of the Carnegie Carnival prior to the premiership match versus Gloucester on 16 September 2007.

The Staff Development Festival 2007 kicked off with a bang on Wednesday 29 August, with a performance from The Orchestra. The fun and festivities continued throughout the festival ending with a spectacular finale at Headingley Carnegie Stadium.

Leeds Met’s Road to Wembley team toured the coveted Carnegie Challenge Cup around schools and clubs up and down the country.

Leeds Metropolitan University celebrated student achievements at Summer Graduation 2007, which took place at the Headingley Campus from Wednesday 18 – Saturday 21 July 2007.

Students, staff, families and the community took part in the second Carnegie Great Student Run 2007 which started at Headingley Carnegie Stadium and finished with participants soaking up the festive atmosphere at our Headingley Campus.

Leeds Met working with Leeds Careers hosted the largest ever Leeds UCAS fair in the Regional Tennis Centre at Headingley Campus during April 2007.

Leeds Met BUSA teams continued their success in the BUSA League programme during the 2006/2007 season.

Guest lectures at Leeds Met during 2007 include Dee Caffari who delivered the Annual Carnegie Lecture. Hilary Benn MP presented his annual politics lecture ‘Changing the World: Why Politics Matter’. Other guests include Leeds Met Honorary Doctor Judith Donovan CBE,and Tom Vosa Head of Market Economics, Yorkshire Bank.

Leeds Met is the new primary partner of the RFL’s most prestigious domestic knock-out tournament, the Carnegie Challenge Cup, which is set to return to Wembley this year.
Leeds Met Carnegie secured a ‘stunning’ 38-24 victory over the strongest of the amateur clubs, Wigan St Patricks, in the opening round.

Leeds Met has become the first university to receive a top music industry accreditation for its music courses, helped by its brand new state of the art recording studios.

Prom on Sunday 16 July 2006, at the Graduation Hall on The Acre, in
the stunning grounds of the university’s Headingley Campus.
The Innovation
North Research Conference took
place at Headingley Campus, Monday 10 to Wednesday 12 July.
Nine groups tackled the Three
Peaks Challenge, the highest mountains
in Scotland (Ben Nevis 1344m), England (Scafell Pike 978m) and Wales
(Snowdon 1085m).

The Leeds Met Inaugural Lecture Series continues throughout 2007.

Celebrations marking the launch of Leeds
Met Africa, began on Wednesday 10 May in the presence of two
High Commissioners, from Malawi to the UK and from the UK to South
Africa.

runners of all time, is visiting Leeds Met, enabling students to rub shoulders
