Assessment, Learning & Teaching Reflections

Thursday 10 November

Leeds Met has a proud track record in promoting student Employability throughout the curriculum and engaging our students in work-related learning. We provide coherent and challenging programmes, offering learning experiences at all levels that form a sound basis for students leaving the University for employment, research and lifelong learning with marketable and personally-fulfilling skills. We aim to ensure that work-related learning is readily available for students within all our courses so as to satisfy local employment requirements and provide extended work-related learning opportunities. Our award by HEFCE of a Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CETL) Institute for Enterprise provides testimony to the quality of our approach and offers a springboard for the promotion of entrepreneurship across the university and our partner colleges.

Furthermore, our Employability office, led by Jane Stapleford, promotes a series of workshops and other activities designed to help staff enhance students’ employability. The next event on 24 th November covers Portfolios to Support the Development of PDP and Key Transferable Skills led by Liz Hinchliffe, Mary Chapple and Janet Barker from the University of Nottingham and Jane Stapleford. To book a place contact Cara McCosh: see What follows for details of other events in the series.
