SCONUL

At some point during your studies, you may need to use the library at another university, because you are away from Leeds or they have the specialist resources that you need.

Many universities in the UK and Ireland are members of SCONUL, meaning that as a student at Leeds Metropolitan you will normally be allowed free-of-charge access to other university libraries. For full-time undergraduates this will be reference access and postgraduates usually have a limited borrowing allowance.

You will need a SCONUL card to access other libraries and you can collect one from the Help & Information Point of either City or Headingley campus libraries.

The SCONUL website lists participating institutions and contacts at the library there. You are advised to contact the library you plan to visit beforehand to ensure you can get access. Most libraries will also require you to make a booking to use archives or special collections, and you should see the relevant institution website for details.
