Nightlife

If after your day of shopping, visiting museums and going to the theatre, you still wish to be entertained then there is arguably no better city in the country than Leeds for nightlife. The city’s countless bars and nightclubs ensure that there is something to suit every taste, every night of the week.

Our Students’ Union has bars at both campuses. The Met Bar is the Students’ Union’s flagship bar, and is the hub of student life at our City Campus. The Stage is a 1,100 capacity music venue, which regularly plays host to some of the biggest acts in the industry - past performers include The Kaiser Chiefs, Nirvana and Bob Marley and the Wailers. More recently, performers have included Elbow, Julian Casablancas and Glasvegas. Every Friday the Stage runs a popular club night, called FUEL, bringing you the best in Punk, Rock, Metal and Emo.
.
There is no shortage of live music in the city from smaller pubs to larger venues such as the O2 Academy, Leeds Music Scene website is a great place for all the latest gigs and reviews. For the post-sport celebrations on a Wednesday, head to Oceana, or the O2 Academy where thousands of like-minded students will be making the most of the student friendly prices. If mass student parties are not your style and you are more interested in music or clubbing then Mint, Space or Mission will be perfect for you.

The vibrant student area of Headingley, home to the University’s Headingley Campus, is also a great place for a night out.

Leeds Metropolitan takes the safety of its students seriously, and we have a partnership with a local taxi firm, Amber Cars, so you can be sure you will always be able to get home.
