Since 2006, HEIs have had the option to charge variable tuition fees for full-time undergraduate students above the prescribed level. This Access Agreement illustrates how we will invest some of the additional income into attracting applications from students from socially disadvantaged groups through bursaries, other forms of financial support, and outreach work.
Dignity at Work and Study Policy
This is our University dignity and respect policy - it includes information around procedures for bullying and harassment.
Pregnancy and maternity are now protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010. From 1 October 2010, a student who is pregnant, or has given birth within the last 26 weeks, is now explicitly protected from unfavourable treatment. This is our University policy.
Diversity Champions are staff and students from across our University. We welcome all staff and students to become one as long as they are passionate about fairness and equality. Use the resources on this page to find out more about equality and diversity at Leeds Metropolitan University.
Your level of involvement is up to you; staff and students can join an Advisory Group in their area, they can champion equality action at a local level or work to implement a diversity mind-set in their own team or cohort. If you have a specific area of interest you can join one of our staff and student forums on disability for example.

We see communication as a key aspect of an inclusive culture. By joining our network of staff and student forums, you can help us to help others get the information and support they need. These forums serve to provide a safe and supportive environment in which to discuss issues relating to the strands mentioned above as well as to provide support and networking and to share best practice.
