For some journeys travelling by car is the only option. You can still reduce your fuel consumption, costs and emissions if you consider car sharing, greener driving techniques or car clubs.†
Car-sharing (also called liftsharing, ridesharing and carpooling) is when two or more people share a car and travel together.
It allows individuals to benefit from the convenience of the car, whilst reducing travel costs,†congestion and pollution.
To find a car sharing partner, register†here as a Leeds Metropolitan Student with†carshare.com† You donít need to have a car to register, you can also request lifts.
You can register any type of journey, whether it is a regular trip to the University or the occasional trip home.
Register today, there might be someone going your way!
Leeds City Car Club provides pay-as-you-go hire cars close to our City and Headingley campuses and other locations across Leeds.
You can hire for as little as 30 minutes, an hour, a day, or as long as you need. Members can book the cars online or by phone any time of the day or night, and access them with your very own smart-enabled membership card. View a video to see how it works.
Annual membership for Leeds Metropolitan students is just £30 using offer code LMU300.
If you occasionally need to use a car, but donít want the hassle and costs of owning one, join Leeds City Car Club.
