TRAC

TRAC is the Transparent Approach to Costing and is a requirement for all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

TRAC has been developed as a means of understanding the costs of a university by considering the activities they undertake. All HEI's are required to produce two returns, Annual TRAC and TRAC for Teaching, which are submitted to HEFCE (Higher Education Funding Council for England) on a yearly basis.

As academic staff costs make up such a large percentage of the University’s expenditure, we are required to collect time allocation schedules.  If you are an academic member of staff completing teaching, research and /or third stream activities, we need you to complete three returns each academic year.

For more information on what your TRAC return please see the TRAC Guide.
