We can convert between DVD-R, miniDV, DVCAM, Betacam, VHS, SVHS, NTSC VHS; audio cassette and audio CD. Data discs can also be duplicated. Video discs are duplicated in region free PAL format only.
We only duplicate on to our own supplied media, usually Taiyo Yuden.
This service is based at Headingley Campus and we guarantee to complete reasonable requests within a maximum of 3 working days. Please allow extra time for large duplication requests, typically 250 copies plus.
Copyright
We are unable to make copies of commercial recordings or copyrighted recordings without the copyright owner's permission. Copies can be made from original material produced within the University. We may ask you to provide written permission to copy from the copyright holder.
Requests are submitted via email or at campus AV Loans counters.
AV Service Terms and Conditions
Lecturers can request recordings to be uploaded to a central server for viewing online within the University, a handy resource when material is recommended to groups of students for viewing.
Viewing online outside University premises or for promotional purposes is not permitted by our ERA licence for broadcast material. University produced videos, such as those produced by the Video Production Team are viewable externally.
The availability of material on the server is subject to the restrictions of system capacity. It is therefore helpful if lecturers are able to inform us when material is no longer needed.
We'll upload your video or audio and email you a URL link which can then be added to your X-stream course page or website page.
Please contact and submit recordings via the Off-Air Recording Service.
