Leeds Metropolitan University is licensed by the Educational Recording Agency (ERA) to record broadcast programmes for educational use.
Programmes are now all scheduled via Leeds Met Media Player, an exciting new piece of software, which gracefully merges a SKY+ or Tivo style Electronic Programme Guide with a viewing experience similar to BBC iPlayer.
As a member of staff you are able to access Leeds Met Media Player's "Freeview Scheduler" and schedule programmes to be added to the Media Player yourself. It is easy and there are no charges when a physical copy is not requested.
If you are using a Windows 7 PC, please click here to access Leeds Met Media Player: http://tv.leedsmet.ac.uk
(XP users click: http://tv.leedsmet.ac.uk/login.aspx).
For more information on Leeds Met Media Player, please click the "Introducing: Leeds Met Media Player" tab below.
Duplication and standard conversion of video and audio material to different formats is available, subject to copyright regulations. Single or bulk copies can be made as required. We can convert between DVD-R, miniDV, DVCAM, Betacam, VHS, SVHS, NTSC VHS; audio cassette and audio CD. Data discs can also be duplicated. Video discs are duplicated in region free PAL format only.
We only duplicate on to our own supplied media, usually Taiyo Yuden.
This service is based at Headingley Campus and we guarantee to complete reasonable requests within a maximum of 3 working days. Please allow extra time for large duplication requests, typically 250 copies plus.
Copyright
We are unable to make copies of commercial recordings or copyrighted recordings without the copyright owner's permission. Copies can be made from original material produced within the University. We may ask you to provide written permission to copy from the copyright holder.
Requests are submitted via email or at campus AV Loans counters.
