Our University operates an IT Service Desk, Maintenance and CARES Helpdesks to provide support to staff across a range of services.
The CARES Helpdesk handles the following enquiries:
- Cleaning
- Portering
- On-site parking requests for contractors, visitors and staff travelling between campuses
- Collection of internal and external mail from designated collection points
- Room set-ups and daily room management service for teaching or meeting rooms
- Preparations of rooms for examinations, conferences and events
- Collection for disposal of unwanted items and skip hire
- Collection for recycling of IT equipment or other reusable items
- Minor works such as small office moves and co-ordination of inter-campus relocations
- Licensing and Security queries

The Maintenance Helpdesk handles all calls for maintenance requests including:
- Maintenance fault reporting
- Replacement of keys
- Building and joinery work (loose steps, roofing, blocked gutters)
- Hiring contractors for pest control, entry and exit barriers, automatic doors, lift problems, air conditioning, walk-in freezers in refectory areas, faulty blinds.
