Governance & Nominations Committee

The purpose of the Committee is to advise the Board of Governors on the appointment of lay members of the Board, having regard to the balance of the Board's membership and the needs of our University.

The Committee advises on all matters relating to the process for the appointment of governors and their induction, mentoring and development.  It also advises on the appointment of the Chair of the Board, the Chairs of Committees and the appointment of the Chancellor.  The Committee advises on developments and good practice in governance, the conduct of Board of Governors' business and the formulation of governance objectives in the Statement of Vision and Character and Operational Statement.  The Committee also has delegated authority to monitor and review achievement of the governance objectives in the Vision and Character Statement and Operating Statement approved by the Board.

The Chair of the Governance & Nominations Committee is Lord Woolmer of Leeds
