Employability Resources

At Leeds Met the development of employability skills is central to all programmes and therefore is embedded within each course

Employability refers to more than to simply being employed.  For a student to have developed their employability to an appropriate level we expect that they will have:

  • developed: a range of subject specific and transferable skills;
  • have accessed a range of experiences and learning opportunities, including work based learning;
  • are motivated and enthusiastic
  • have the requisite knowledge to enter the graduate world of work and progress through a flexible career.
  • as an extra at Leeds Met we also expect our graduates to have developed the specific graduate attributes of being enterprising; digitally literate and having a global outlook.

The course validation process ensures that each programme contains the appropriate range of learning opportunities for that area.  When you are developing your programme there are a range of resources that can help you to plan and later when you are looking to source Open Educational Resources there are a range either developed by Leeds Met or quality checked available in the University Repository. These can be found by using the search term ‘employability resources.’ and the accordion below offers access to many employability resources

The Centre for Learning and Teaching provides a focus within the University for activities relating to graduate employability and work related learning and supports the embedding of employability and career management skills in the curriculum
