Employment & Staffing Committee

The Employment and Staffing Committee advises the Board of Governors on the framework for the pay and conditions of staff (other than senior postholders).

In addition, it advises on the employment and staffing strategy and policy, the strategy and policy in relation to diversity and equality of opportunity in employment; and the health and safety policy of our University.  The Committee has delegated authority to monitor and evaluate the implementation of strategies and policies in respect of employment, staffing, diversity and equality of opportunity in employment, and health, safety and welfare. The Committees advises the Vice-Chancellor and Director of Human Resources on industrial relations matters and approves detailed procedures for the appointment, assignment, grading, appraisal, discipline, suspension and dismissal of staff (other than senior postholders), within the framework set by the Board.
