The High Performance Triathlon Centre is currently the base for all the triathletes in the North of England who are on World Class Programmes. Athletes based at the centre include the 2009 men's World Champion Alistair Brownlee and the 2009 European Junior champion Jonny Brownlee. Additionally Leeds Met students on Carnegie scholarships train at the centre on a daily basis alongside members of the student triathlon club. These include Lois Rosindale the 2009 BUCS sprint triathlon champion and Louisa Edmonston the 2009 BUCS Olympic distance champion.
The Head Coach Jack Maitland is assisted by a support staff of other coaches, physiotherapists and strength and conditioning coaches. There are 10 coached sessions every week - 5 swim sessions split between the short-course University Pool and the John Charles Centre 50m pool, 2 bike sessions either based in the Sports Science Research Centre or using local roads and 3 run sessions using local trails and the University's track.
