Rounders proves a big hit

Students and staff took part in one the most enjoyable and entertaining sports tournament of the year on the Acre at Headingley Campus.

As the sun shone down on Leeds, teams gathered to battle it out for Intramural rounders glory

Eight teams took part in the tournament and competition was fierce with a number of big hitting contests.

After hours of intense action the tournament reached its climax with Dan's Little Gromers facing Team Mustrave in the final.  Dan's Little Groomers scored 10.5 to Team Mustrave's 6.5 and were crowned deserved Intramural Rounders champions 2010.

Speaking after the event Sports Participation Officer Sarah Humphreys said: "Staff and students have turned up in force today for the fifth annual intramural rounders tournament.  The weather's been great this afternoon and the attendance throughout the term for these events has been fantastic."
