Rosindale crowned national triathlon champion

Leeds Metropolitan University student Lois Rosindale has been crowned national triathlon champion after victory in Windsor at the weekend.
Lois, a Sports and Exercise student, triumphed in the Toshiba British Triathlon Elite National Championships, which saw more than 2,500 competitors of all abilities take part.
The elite men's and women's events saw athletes swim 1500m in the River Thames, before taking to their saddles for a 42km bike ride and finish with a 10km road run.
The women's race fiercely competitive until Lois was able to pull away in the run to win in a time of 2hrs 6mins with second going to Aileen Morrison in 2hrs 7mins.
There was success in the men's race for Tom Bishop who trains at Leeds Metropolitan University with coaches Jack Maitland and Malcolm Brown who came out on top in a time of 1hr 52mins.
Lois has also been selected for her first senior GB vest for the European Triathlon Championships in Pontevedra Spain on June 25. Also selected are Leeds Met student and defending champion Alistair Brownlee and other Leeds training group members Jonny Brownlee and Harry Wiltshire.
Speaking about her success Lois said: "It's an amazing feeling to have won the race and be crowned national champion. I went into the race knowing I could do well but the competition was extremely tough and the conditions on the day were horrible. I knew that if I could get through the bike ride fine then the run is my best event. I set off hard and got to the front by the end of the first lap and grew in confidence with each lap. We've got a great training group now in Leeds and the success of others in the squad such as the Brownlee brothers motivates me to train hard and seek further success."
Carnegie Director of Triathlon, Jack Maitland added: "This is a great result for Lois and a tribute to the hard work that she has put in over the last few years and in particular the way she coped with an injury last winter which restricted her training for 4 months. She can look forward with confidence to the rest of the season, starting with the European championships in two weeks time.
