Men's and women's cricketers have maintained their winning start to the season after the latest round of BUCS league fixtures.
The men were victorious at home to The University of Leeds whilst the women defeated Durham comfortably in an away fixture.
With both sides having beaten Loughborough in their previous outings, confidence was high in the squads and the women cruised to victory against a spirited Durham side, bowling them out for just 124 in 43 overs before reaching the target for the loss of only two wickets in just 29 overs.
After a good start by the Durham openers, the first wicket fell at 69-0 in the 18th over. A quick collapse by the middle order shortly followed with Leeds Met taking seven wickets in 10 overs to finish off the Durham batting lineup. Holly Richardson was the star bowler getting six wickets for only seven runs.
In reply Scothern and Petty put on 62 for the 1st wicket until Scothern was run out in a mis-communicated run between the two. Petty anchored the innings with a decent batting performance while Harvey and then Bargh came to her support. Bargh put in a great performance for her 31 and with Petty saw Leeds Met home with 22 overs left on the board.
The men were made to work much harder for their victory against their city rivals as they bowled The University of Leeds out for 201 inside 46 overs. The home side then reached their target in 46.5 overs as they scored 205-6 to win the match and maintain their 100% record.
