Clean sweep for football at BUCS

Footballers at Leeds Met enjoyed a double hat trick of victories yesterday as all six sides recorded victories.
The men's football first team were in fine form as they beat Northumbria convincingly 4-1 at Headingley Campus, having played in the County Cup on Tuesday evening where they beat Yorkshire Amateurs 4-3.
The women's football first team travelled to the North East to face last season's champions Northumbria and edged a thrilling contest 3-2 to maintain their 100% record whilst the women's second team played some excellent football as they defeated MMU Cheshire 4-2. The men's third team beat Northumbria 3-1, the fourth team recorded the same scoreline against York St John whilst the newly established fifth team beat Sunderland 3-0 to cap off a fine day of action for the Leeds Met football club.
In other results, the men's rugby union side got back to winning ways with a 53-10 demolition of Scottish side Edinburgh whilst their female counterparts recorded a 24-0 away win at Sheffield. Men's and women's volleyball both recorded 3-0 victories over Central Lancs and Chester respectively whilst men's tennis beat Loughborough 12-0 and women's tennis drew with Birmingham.
Paul Fletcher's rugby league side were rampant against Hull as they won 50-4 whilst the netballers made light work of Newcastle, winning 61-15. There was a victory for women's lacrosse over Sheffield Hallam 16-10 and a clean sweep of wins for all five badminton teams.
Women's basketball beat Birmingham 89-29 at home however the men lost their third consecutive BUCS fixture, losing to Northumbria 58-90. Women's hockey narrowly lost out to Durham 0-1 whilst the men's side lost out to Manchester 0-5 in an away fixture.
