BUCS success for Rosindale

Leeds Met student Lois Rosindale has continued her fine recent form with victory at the BUCS Olympic Distance Triathlon.

Lois, a Sport and Exercise Science student finished ahead of her Leeds Met colleague Emily Dove who finished in fourth position in the event at Dearne Valley in South Yorkshire.

The men's event was won by Oliver Ziff of Birmingham University and Rob Dunn was the top scorer for Leeds Met coming home in fourth position.

A team result which combined the men's and women's top three saw Leeds Met in the gold medal position ahead of Durham University with Birmingham in third.

The Leeds Met scorers were: Lois Rosindale, Emily Dove, Heather Sellars, Rob Dunn, Jonathan Pryke and Gabriel Lowrie.

Speaking of the squad's success Carnegie Director of Triathlon Jack Maitland said: ""This result showed the strength in depth of our squad compared to the other Universities. A number of our team had problems either in the run-up to the event or during the competition itself. Thankfully we had other athletes who were able to step up to the mark and do themselves and the University proud."
