Becoming a member of the Athletic Union:

You can join the Athletic Union via our on line store:

 

Once you purchase your online membership, a report will be sent to the Sports Office with all your membership details.

Sports Membership

What's included?

Carnegie Sports Centre at Headingley Campus is home to 3 multi purpose sports halls plus a brand new sports arena for 2012 including 500 seats for spectators!

Our fitness centres include some of the latest  cardiovascular and weight training equipment, making it an ideal training centre from the complete novice wishing to lead a healthier lifestyle, through to the elite athlete with specific training objectives.

Also available for your use is the state of the art athletics track and indoor tennis centre. Additional fees may apply.

 

 

Fitness Classes

Fitness classes are also included with a sports membership. These range from Aerobics and Body Pump to Zumba!

 

The fitness centre at City Campus is on the second floor of Woodhouse Building (above the Students' Union).

The more fitness classes you attend the more prizes you will win and if you finish the year with the most attendance stamps you will receive a free gym membership next year!

Sport Membership Pricing

Student Price-£125 for the entire year! 

The Free Weights Gym is an extra £15 for the year.

Before you can use the gym facilities an induction is essential.

Personal Training

Get fitter and stronger with one of our dedicated instructors/personal trainers. For just £10 Sports Membership holders can have a health assessment and personal training session.

A student needs to purchase one Athletic Union Membership to participate in one club. If a student then wishes to join another club they will have to pay £30 per additional club.

'No Pay No Play'

If you do not pay your AU Membership you will not be allowed to participate in the BUCS fixtures.

Deadline for payment of AU Memberships is 10th October 2012.

Extra Costs

Please note the Athletic Union clubs and the University facilities may charge additional fees for some/all activities.  It is down to the individual member to seek out information regarding these costs.  Individual clubs will differ and should you have queries please contact the Sports Office for further information.
