Victory sweet at American Football tournament

Students and staff took part in the inaugural Leeds Met intramural Touch American Football tournament at Headingley Campus.
The tournament was deemed a big success with many participants trying out the game for the first time. Despite this, teams soon got to grips with the rules and the touchdowns starting flowing.
Nathan Dainty speaks after his side finish third at the touch American Football tournamentThe games were played in very high spirits with one team electing to dress in ballet themed fancy dress. After a competitive round-robin group stage, the University rugby club's Team Sweet reached the final and faced The Big Un's in the showpiece event.
In a tight match Team Sweet came out victorious with a 2-1 victory and were crowned touch American Football champions 2010.
Speaking after the event Sports Participation Officer Sarah Humphreys said: "The Campus Sport Programme is all about having fun through playing sport, whether it's in weekly leagues or in one-off tournaments, and its great that we have got students and staff trying out new sports that they ordinarily wouldn't have thought about playing."
