Gymnastics - Lajos Sovago

Lajos Sovago graduated from the University of Physical Education in Budapest in 1978 and has been working as a full time gymnastics coach ever since. He was also a part time lecturer at Leeds Met between 1990-1999. Qualifications include International Performance Coach (Degree in Coaching), FIG International Judge and Teacher of PE.
Lajos has contributed to both Hungarian and British gymnasts to achieve notable results at international level since 1978 as a full time gymnastics coach. He was the chief coach to Central Sports School (KSI) and Ujpesti Dozsa Gymnastics Club in Budapest which produced gymnasts at high international level and resulted in a number of medals in World and European Championships and finally a gold Medal in the Olympic Games in Sydney 2000.
From 1990 Lajos has coached Leeds gymnasts. One such gymnast was Dominic Brindle who represented Great Britain successfully in major international championships. He was one of the two gymnasts who achieved Olympic participation in 1996 in Atlanta.
