Equestrian

Equestrian

Leeds Met Equestrian Club provides the opportunity for students to compete in Equestrian Sport, to ride for fun and above all to socialise with others who share similar interests.  The great aspect of the club is that students do not require their own horse to be involved as the horses are provided by Back Lane, a local Riding School.

From a competitive point of view, we visit Back Lane for weekly training with our coach Jo Watts and James Tate.  We take part in the BUCS league throughout the year, in which previously we have been very successful.  Since our club was set up in 2009, each year we have had riders compete at both regional and national level.

For those looking to have fun without the pressure of a competitive atmosphere, we can offer recreational riding, with greatly reduced prices for weekly lessons or hacks which allows for some fun in the countryside.

Furthermore, we have many club members who just want to join in on socials and spend time with like-minded individuals.  For this we offer organised team meals, nights out and membership of the club provides you access to a range of discounts.
