Water Polo

The water polo team at Leeds Met has gone from strength to strength over the past 5 years with the development of both male and female teams. The girls have excelled to be in the BUCs championship and are current holders of the U-Polo British championships.
A water polo player must be a confident swimmer and at the same time have a relatively good ball handling ability, as some would say the sport is a combination of handball, rugby and swimming but is great fun. A range of abilities train with the teams and the development of all players from novice to elite is a theme within the squad.
The sport is very sociable and Leeds Met players are no different. Sports nights on a Wednesday see most of the squad interacting with the other sports teams in Leeds as well as competing in a number of friendly matches and competitions across the year including a tour abroad.
Anyone is welcome to join the team and anyone who can swim is always welcomed to come and have a go.
