Steve joined the University in 2007 to take up the role as Head Coach. Prior to taking on this role Steve was the County Performance Officer for the Yorkshire Lawn Tennis Association. Steve is a former LTA and Yorkshire and Humberside Coach of the Year.
A trained tutor at current levels 1, 2, 3 and 4, Steve has also led several international representational teams abroad. In addition he was the lead tutor to trainee level 5 candidates and has led other high performance personnel to Grand Slam events.
Trained as a Physical Educational specialist, Steve is a strong advocate of an integrated approach to performance training and pathways for all levels of performers. Steve was previously Project Manager for the AASE tennis scheme for tennis in the UK and now delivers this same scheme at Leeds Met with colleague Louise Assioun.
Steve's main role at Leeds Met is to act as Head Coach to the University Teams and AASE programme and Coach Educator. Steve is a highly experienced coach who has led the University to two European titles and two Premiership titles.
