The Triathlon and Cycling club caters for any Leeds Met student who would like to have a go at a multi-sport event such as a Duathlon (Run/Bike/Run), Biathlon (Swim/Run) or Triathlon (Swim/Bike/Run). The events can be as short as a 200m swim, a 16km cycle and a 3km run and so are accessible to anyone who is prepared to do some regular training for a few months. We also enter cycling events including Hill Climbs, Cyclo-cross, Mountain-biking, Road-racing and Time-trialling. We have 7 coached sessions each week that are open to all club members and we regularly travel to and compete in British Universities Championships (BUCS) and open events. Last year we were very successful with 14 BUCS medals including 7 Golds. In 2009 we were awarded the Leeds Met Club Development award to recognise our success in increasing participation along with our medal successes.
The club is organised into two training groups - a performance group of elite level triathletes and a development group. The latter group is open to all Leeds Met students including those that are new to triathlon. To join the club either sign-up at the Freshers' Fair or use the contact details on this page.
