Climbing & Mountaineering

The Climbing Club is an active, fun and friendly club for Leeds Met University Students and Staff. We are open to all levels of abilities, whether you have climbed for years, months, or never before. We have all the basic equipment for you to start climbing straight away which you can use for free when you join the club.
The club has two main aspects, social and competitive. If you just want to have a friendly climb and meet good friends the club will happily accommodate you. If you also want to train five times a week to progress your skills and compete in competitions we will accommodate that also. If you like Bouldering, Sport Climbing or Trad we make every effort to make all elements accessible to everyone.
We train twice a week at the university boulder wall on a Monday and Thursday night 6:00pm-8:00pm. On Wednesday afternoons we will head outdoors or if the weather isn't permitting we go climbing to another indoor facility in Leeds. On select weekends trips further afield will be organised to many different locations such as the Peak District, Lake District, Wales and many more.
During holidays week long trips will be organised to countries like Spain and France so you can get the opportunity to sample climbing in Europe.
