The Higher Edcuation Policy Advisor has advised that they have published a consultation on proposals for the Research Excellence Framework, which can be viewed here. The consultation will run until 16th December 2009. Further information on the consultation including supporting documents and contact information can be found on the REF web pages.These pages will be updated during the consultation to include FAQs and other information.

HEFCE is working to develop a new system for quality assessment and funding to be introduced after 2008, and this will replace the RAE system. For information regarding the outcome of the consultation (HEFCE 2007/34) on the proposals for the new Research Excellence Framework (REF) and timetable of the process click here. In January 2008, HEFCE ran a series of consultation events, providing a forum for institutions to discuss the proposals.

HEFCE Announce the recurrent grants for 2009/2010
On 5th March 2009 the HEFCE recurrent grants for 2009/2010 was announced. Included in the figures are the long awaited allocation of total research funding inclusive of the QR transitional funding following the RAE 2008. The amount of funding to be received by Leeds Met shows a significant improvement from the previous RAE 2001. However, the document is still classed by HEFCE as provisional. The final allocations will be announced in July 2009.

RAE Results announced
Leeds Met has successfully submitted seven units to the RAE 2008. To see our results please click here. The results will be used by the funding bodies to calculate funding allocations in 2009-2010.
