Our research practice is underpinned by principles of equity and social justice and reflects a commitment to examining inequities resulting from gender, ‘race’, sexuality, class, disability, age or religion and their intersections.

Currently our work falls into one of five themes: Theory and Methodologies: Young People’s Experiences of Physical Education and Sport; Sport, Migration and Diasporic Communities, Sport and Leisure, Cultures and Identities, and Policies and Practices. Please view examples of case studies of our work under each theme below under Our Research.

Research Used to Challenge Racism

Sarah Williams, Equality and Diversity Manager at The Rugby Football League, explains the impact of research that the Centre for Diversity Equity and Inclusion has done on the nature of racism in sport and attempts to challenge it.
