Edexcel / BTEC

The University offers a range of courses under the auspices of Edexcel.  Edexcel has granted the university, as a mature and experienced provider with well-documented and proven internal quality assurance procedures, a Licence Agreement and Protocol, which delegates responsibility for quality of HE provision to the University.  The University has responsibility for the internal quality assurance of programmes, while Edexcel has a responsibility across centres for consistency of standards nationally.

The agreement affords benefits to both Edexcel and the University.  It provides an opportunity to devise entirely new Higher National qualifications and to structure them to fit closely with the University's prevailing curriculum practices.  It facilitates progression to degrees and the sharing of common units in modular schemes.

The Quality, Standards, Review and Enhancement team in Planning and Registry Services, Registrar and Secretary's Office liaises with Edexcel on behalf of the University.

The registration of students with Edexcel is carried out by the Awards, Examinations and Graduations team in Planning and Registry Services, Registrar and Secretary's Office, for which the contact person is David Rhodes (ext. 23430).

Edexcel has its own website at http://www.edexcel.org.uk/.
