What happens after you've applied to us?

openevening-apr29

We will process your application as quickly as possible and you should expect a decision within six to eight weeks of applying.

Once we’ve received your online application, we’ll send you an e-mail confirmation with your unique reference number. Your application will then be considered by the appropriate Faculty, who may contact you for more information, invite you to an interview or make you an offer.

If you have applied to study MA Social Work you can track your application through UCAS.

Types of offer you could receive

  • Unconditional
If we are happy with your application and you have met all the entry requirements, then we can make you an unconditional offer. This means you definitely have a place on your chosen course.
  • Conditional
If you have not met all the entry requirements yet (e.g. you might be waiting to take exams or receive results) we may make you a conditional offer. This offer means we are happy to have you on our course, as long as you achieve the appropriate qualifications.
  • Rejection
If we are not able to offer you a place, we unfortunately have to reject your application.

What else is there to consider?

If we have offered you a place and you choose to accept this, there are a few things you will need to think about - the best way to help finance your studies and, if you need accommodation, what the best option is for you. We've outlined some key areas below:

Paying your fees

For information on career development loans, funding, paying your fees in instalments, employer funded study and working while you study, visit our finance pages.

Accommodation

Most of our accommodation is aimed at first year undergraduate students in halls of residence. As a postgraduate student - if you are moving away from home for your studies - you may prefer the smaller, private house environment available through Unipol Student Homes.

If you have a family who is moving with you for your studies, you can talk to Unipol about your needs. Do this quickly though as there are only a few houses designed for students with children.

Online Welcome Service

At Leeds Metropolitan, we give you a very warm welcome. Our Online Welcome Service will give you all the information you need prior to arriving and those first few weeks. You will be given access to this service when you have accepted a place with us.
