The University's iconic Rose Bowl building has received a design excellence award, its second trophy this year.
The building, which was officially opened by the Duke of Kent in May this year, won the Design Excellence Award at the Yorkshire Property Industry Awards.
Dean of Business & Law, Martin Allison said: "With our relocation to the Rose Bowl, Leeds Business School is now literally at the heart of business in Yorkshire and ideally placed to serve the needs of business and professional development in the region and beyond. It is a great opportunity for us to work with civic and business leaders to create innovation and enterprise. My vision for the Rose Bowl is that it will be a place for educating current and future business leaders to be successful in the world and for the world."
The event, held last night at Saviles Hall at the Royal Armouries, was hosted by the BBC's Nik Wood, and brought together influential names from the property, finance and public sectors of Yorkshire.
Sue Holmes, Head of Estates at the University said: "Leeds Met are delighted that the Rose Bowl continues to receive awards and accolades. Importantly we have also had great feedback from users of the building."
The Rose Bowl is the home of Leeds Business School at Leeds Met, and includes a five storey U-shaped building consisting of teaching areas, lecture theatres, catering facilities and offices as part of a signature glass building.
It was designed by Sheppard Robson, ARUP, Turner and Townsend and Gardiner and Theobold. Earlier this year, The Rose Bowl was among the winners at the Yorkshire Property Awards. The building scooped Best Development at the May event, which was attended by more than 600 property professionals at Rudding Park Hotel in Harrogate.
Last night's awards recognised achievements right across the property sector - including the investor providing the necessary means to get the project started, the developer with the vision to see what can be achieved, the architect and contractor to turn that vision into reality, the agent helping to make sure that reality turns into something of real benefit to Yorkshire business and society.
