The annual RIBA Yorkshire Awards are open to RIBA validated university architecture schools in the Yorkshire and Humber region. Each school shortlists projects from the students' end of year shows, and shortlisted entries are judged by a panel of professional judges, with an award ceremony held alongside the exhibition.
Speaking about his success, Vahagn said: "I am very surprised to have won; I didn't expct it at all. I'm happy about the project and pleased to have won the silver award and best presentation. I'm now working with my tutors to prepare for the national awards later this year and it's thanks to them that I got this far; they're always so engaging with the students and help to push us all the way. Looking back the course has progressed so much since I first began."
