Rewarding Dialogue

Professor Anne Gregory receives the award.

Leeds Met has been presented with a dialogue award at an awards ceremony in London.

The University received the award for the Leslie Silver International Faculty's interfaith dialogue and scholarship work at the Dialogue Society's 10th anniversary dinner and awards ceremony which took place at the Renaissance Chancery Court in London earlier this week.

The Anniversary dinner highlighted the work and achievements of the Dialogue Society over the past ten years with awards of appreciation being presented to partners and friends from the academic, political and third sectors and those who have contributed to community well-being overall.

The award presented to Leeds Met recognised the work carried out by the University, including three international conferences co-organised with the Dialogue Society, two books published, and some six papers and lectures given at conferences in Washington, Rotterdam, Potsdam, Los Angeles and New York. Leeds Met's Professor Anne Gregory was in attendance at the ceremony to take a bow on behalf of the University.

The event featured a live instrumental music recital, video presentation and short key note speeches from the powers of parliament; Mr Shahid Malik, Parliamentary under Secretary of State, Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), Mr Bill Rammel MP, Minister of State for the Armed Forces, Dr Julian Lewis MP, Shadow Defence Minister and Mr Chris Huhne MP, Shadow Home Secretary.
