Celebrating languages

The work of our part-time language students was recently highlighted in a showcase of their work.
The half-day event, held at Headingley Campus, focused on students from our Part-time Language Programme, and saw ten of our most outstanding students exhibiting their work in English.
This was an opportunity for students and staff to hear a series of presentations on international topics as diverse as the Roman identity in France, the urbanisation of Shanty Towns in Rio de Janeiro, Canaletto and his rivals, the Moors and Christians festivity and French wines versus New World wines.

- Hugh Wellesley-Smith
The end of this academic year that has seen the Part-Time Language Programme growing in strength and recruiting more than 2,100 students in 24 languages.
