Tech-savvy females gathered at The Loft in Leeds last night for the Leeds Girl Geek Dinner.
The event, supported by nti, featured Sarah Hartley, digital editor of The Guardian as a guest speaker, and was attended by the city's brightest female creatives, technologists, programmers, entrepreneurs, marketeers and PR professionals.
Other guest speakers included Innovation North academic Christine Morris, who discussed her current project Apps & Hats - a quirky iPhone application review show, created only a few months after the app store launched.
In addition, there was a screening of film from the Her Code study by Orange Labs in San Francisco, which brought together a series of interviews with women in leadership positions across Silicon Valley.
The event also saw the launch of the new 'Inspiring Women' project, the brainchild of the UK Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology, the West Yorkshire Lifelong Learning Network, Leeds Girl Geek Dinners and Girl Geek Scotland.
This new project will work with inspiring women across the world to create podcasts and interactive learning materials to help inspire young women in education who aspire to a career within the SET industries.
