'Innovation in the Construction Industry' is on the agenda at our University as Mark Bew - Chairman of the Government Industry BIM (Building Information Modelling) task group - is set to give a guest lecture.

The event will run from 6-7pm on Thursday 18 April at the Rose Bowl.

Mr Bew MBE is also Director of Engineering Construction Strategies and Chairman of Building Smart UK.

Professor Farzad Khosrowshahi, Head of School of the Built Environment & Engineering at Leeds Metropolitan, commented: "Mark Bew has a vast amount of experience in delivering successful process and technology driven business change programmes from within the construction industry. These include supply chain integration on Building Information Modelling platforms."

Mr Bew's lecture will look at the state of readiness in the construction industry as part of the need to deliver a digital Britain over the next decade, while contrasting this against what is happening elsewhere in the world.

The lecture will provide a holistic, realistic and up-to-date perspective on the challenges and the achievements that lie ahead for the construction industry.
