Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How can I view timetables online?
Students and Staff can view timetables online via the Portal. Sign in, select the 'My modules' or 'My Studies' tab, then you will see the Timetables box in the lower left hand section of the page.
Students' timetable information also appears in your Google calendar. Full instructions for both systems are on the timetabling homepage.
Will changes made to my timetable be transferred to the online timetables immediately?
The online timetabling system is a live link to CMIS, the timetabling system. Any changes made on CMIS will be updated online immediately. Google Calendars are updated overnight.

How do I request an ad-hoc room booking? (staff only)
Please complete the room booking request form and select the option on the form to email it to the room booking email address for your faculty.
Can students request ad-hoc room bookings?
Students wishing to book a room must do this through a member of staff.
How do I cancel or change a booking?
Please contact the person who made the booking for you or your faculty Academic Delivery Planning Officers.
What can I do if my request for a room cannot be met?
Room bookers will always try to meet your request. However, please note that it is not always possible to find an available room if the request is very specific. The more flexible you can be in terms of location, time or date, the easier it will be to meet your request. If you require a specific room, you could check via the online timetables to see when it is free.
The room I wanted was meant to be booked but no-one was using it. Why is this?
The most likely explanation is that whoever made the booking did not need the room but forgot to cancel it. Please ensure you let the relevant room booker know about any cancellations so that the room can be used.
The room was not in an acceptable condition - what can I do?
Please contact the person who booked the room for you, and detail your concerns about the room to them. They will then arrange for appropriate action to be taken by relevant colleagues or, if appropriate, will try to find an alternative location for your booking.
Can I change the layout of a room?
Yes, but the room must be returned to its original state at the end of your booking. If you require help with setting up the room, please contact the porters via ext. 28585
How do I book the Jubilee Room or Gandhi Hall?
