There are now sixteen off-the-shelf courses on offer covering a wide range of educational issues, from presentation techniques to assessment fundamentals and from text design to multimedia. Session dates for the current semester are published in The News and on our Web Site.
The courses are all based on half-day sessions. They can be completed on an attendance-only basis (there is no charge for this option) or they can be taken as part of an award-bearing programme. Please ring extn 3288 to enquire or to book places.
For many years, we have offered extensive and sophisticated production services for video and print-based materials. We recognise that, in many areas, the teaching and learning process is being supported by the use of a wide range of newer technologies, many computer based, and we are now justified in offering production facilities for these kinds of materials, including:
The Staff Laboratory (C509 at Calverley Street) will continue to be available, with all the relevant equipment, for do-it-yourself work in these areas. There is now, however, a member of staff appointed to this facility who will take your specification and, in conjunction with other members of LSS technical staff, create a finished product for you. There is no charge for this service, the only cost being for any consumables used.
