Your lifestyle

At Leeds Metropolitan, we recognise that every one of our students has their own unique needs.

You may be wondering how you will fit your studies around your lifestyle. You may have childcare commitments, or be in full-time employment. We will help you to fit your studies around your lifestyle.

A library that’s open when you need it

Our two award-winning libraries are open 24 hours, seven days a week. Inside, you’ll find informal, group and silent study environments. So, whether you like to talk things through with others, or prefer peace and quiet, you’ll feel at home. Both libraries have wireless networks and self-service machines where you can issue, return and renew your books. If you have any IT problems, our IT Support hotline is open 24/7 too.

Flexible courses

If you’ve got a busy lifestyle, you may not be able to study in the conventional way. We want to make study possible for everyone, so many of our courses have part-time, evening class and distance learning options. For more information, contact our Admission Enquiries team.

Childcare

We are a child-friendly university, and have rooms on campus for breast feeding and baby changing. Please contact the Student Hub for more information.

For information on local childcare, including nurseries, childminders, out-of-school clubs and playschemes, please contact our Childcare Co-ordinator.

Supporting yourself during your studies

Many of our students work part-time during their studies in order to support themselves. If you would like to find work once you are here, you should contact the Job Shop. The Job Shop is the University's student and graduate employment agency. In addition to helping you find temporary work to support your studies, work through the Job Shop can also help you gain valuable employability skills.

For more on finding part-time work, visit our employability pages.
