Support
Getting help when and where you need it.
There’s always someone here to help you at Leeds Metropolitan. We have support networks right across our University staffed by trained and experienced professionals. If you need information, guidance or just someone to talk to, don’t hesitate to contact us.
If you’re applying to us and need extra support, do let us know before you arrive.
Educational Guidance
If you are concerned that you may have difficulty accessing higher education, get in touch with our Educational Guidance team. We have advised students who:
- are returning to learning several years after leaving school
- are unable to study in the traditional full-time way
- have few/no formal qualifications but a wealth of work experience
We can help you find and apply for the right course.
Disability Services
We positively welcome disabled students and we currently have around 1,700 students who identify themselves as having a disability or a specific learning difficulty.
If you’re considering applying to us, get in touch before you apply to discuss any reasonable adjustments we can make to help you with your study. We can also assist you with an application for a Disabled Students’ Allowance.
Counselling
If you experience any issues that have an impact on your studies or your relationships, our experienced team of counsellors will be available to help you. You can either make an appointment or drop in to one of our open door sessions.
Helpzone
You’ll get to know our friendly Helpzone staff from your first day at Leeds Metropolitan, as they’re your first point of contact for all non academic information. Whether you need help finding your way around the University, or accessing support services such as financial advice and counselling, simply pop along to our Helpzones at City Campus or Headingley Campus.
