MA International Communication

09 February 2010

Leeds Business School is celebrating the successful approval of the new MA International Communication.

This exciting new award is delivered by six universities across Europe, all of whom specialise in communications and public relations in professional contexts. The development was funded by the EU and the six universities have joined under the name of the Gert Hofstede Consortium, Professor Hofstede having agreed to associate his name with this pan-European initiative.

The MA International Communication is designed to develop effective international communications practitioners. Students will study at their home university in semester one. Semester two will be spent at another university in the consortium, before they complete their dissertation under the supervision of both universities during the third and final semester.

There is a clear focus during the course on working with clients and on practical problem-solving in the communications sphere. The twin country study approach means that students will gain experience of two different national cultures, gaining the skills needed to work across boundaries.

The universities forming the consortium are Leeds Metropolitan; IULM, Milan, Italy; the New Bulgarian University, Sofia, Bulgaria; Hanze University, Groningen, the Netherlands, the University of Vilnius, Lithuania; and Budapest Business School, Hungary.
