Leeds has excellent public transport, cycling and walking facilities. Seven per cent of our colleagues cycle into work and many also walk. The Cycle to Work Scheme enables staff to purchase a bicycle and safety equipment as a tax-free benefit.
We do encourage our workforce to use public transport wherever possible and boast an attractive travel scheme for staff that gives discounts on both bus and train passes. We recognise that for some journeys travelling by car is the only option. However, in this regard, we offer an innovative car club scheme to enable employees to hire a car for work purposes at competitive rates. If travelling by car is the only means of transport to and from the University, then employees may apply online for a car parking permit at the City Campus or Headingley Campus. External candidates are eligible to make a claim for expenses incurred while attending for interview at the University and further information is made available to shortlisted candidates.
