About Us

Hospitality & Retailing at Leeds Met has a reputation as one of the largest and most successful departments of its kind in Europe.  Our distinctive courses also receive many awards for quality of teaching, innovation and much more. In 2006, we were rated 'Excellent' by The Sunday Times University Guide, and for 2008 the Guardian University Guide has already named us 'top Northern University' in its Tourism, Transport and Travel category (which includes Hospitality).

Many of our courses offer work placement opportunities in the UK and overseas and the chance to work on real consultancy projects with industry, as well as visits and industry speakers to give students the hands-on experience they need to succeed.

From September 2010, our Hospitality and Retailing students will be located at the Carnegie Pavilion at Headingley Carnegie Stadium, one of the busiest sports stadiums in the country. Students will benefit from learning in an events venue with access to a state-of-the-art reception and exhibition area, and training kitchen.
