Personal Statement
I have been teaching English since 1993 and I am still enthusiastic about teaching and learning.
I feel I learn as much from my students as I hope they learn from me - about their cultures, languages and experiences. I have also worked as a Certificate in English Language Teaching (CELTA) trainer.
I am originally from Cambridge, but have lived and taught English in many places such as Japan, Ecuador and Turkey and other parts of England. I lived in London before moving to Leeds in 2003. I have two young children who keep me very busy.
When I do have free time, I enjoy reading, cycling and I love travelling. I want our students to have a positive, enjoyable and rewarding experience studying at Leeds Met and living in the UK and will support them as best I can to do so.
Wendy is fully qualified to teach English as a Foreign Language in accordance with the British Council's TEFLQ standard.
