Personal Statement
I did my first degree in Spanish, German and European Economics at this university. As part of my course, I lived in Germany for one year and on completing my degree, spent ten years in Spain, teaching English and German and later running a language school in Madrid.
As a Principal Lecturer and International Teacher Fellow I am active in several university-wide initiatives including running staff development workshops to share good practice on assessment, learning and teaching issues relating to international students.
I am currently building upon my five-year research study into student perceptions of independent learning and their employability skills development by researching the employability skills developed by international students as a result of volunteering.
In my free time I particularly enjoy walking and dancing salsa.
Dawn is fully qualified to teach English as a Foreign Language in accordance with the British Council's TEFLQ standard.
