The University's English language requirements
We accept a number of English language equivalences. The most common ones include IELTS, Pearson Test of English (Academic) and TOEFL iBT. Find out your English language equivalent score.
Support while you're learning
As a student at our University, you will also be offered the
ECIS Academic English & Study Skills course to support your English language and study skills development while you are studying with us. These classes are offered free to international students as part of the fee package. EU students may be required to pay a small fee.

Undergraduate and one year top-up courses
English Language Teaching at Leeds Met offers a flexible range of undergraduate programmes in English as a Foreign Language with a duration of one semester (Certificate), one year (CertHE or BA top-up) or three years (BA Hons).
If you already have an HND or BA from your own country and an English level of at least IELTS 6.0, you can enter directly into the final year of an undergraduate degree programme here and gain a BA in one year with a top-up degree. You will need to take a top-up in a subject area related to your previous studies.
