Franca Varoli

As a primary school English language teacher in Italy, I was delighted to be granted a scholarship to take a short course in English language and English Language Teaching Methodology and Materials Development at Leeds Met, funded by the Italian Ministry of Education.  The course gave me the chance to update my knowledge of approaches to English language teaching as well as to improve my fluency in English.

I found the people in Leeds kind, polite and helpful. The city itself has a good mixture of interesting, elegant and cheap shops and offers many things to do in the evenings.  I found the course very stimulating; the teachers were professional and competent and the lessons were varied. Since returning to Italy I have continued to improve my English and plan to return to England in the future.
